Anhinga Press, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)3 operating in Tallahassee, Florida. Since 1974 our mission has been to bring quality poetry to a broad audience by publishing poetry, sponsoring poetry events and educational activities, participating in writers conferences, working with area colleges, making our books available as textbooks for students, and networking with other arts organizations as a good citizen of the arts community and the community at large.
We are committed to publishing and supporting diverse voices from the United States. We offer FREE books by an array of diverse Anhinga poets to students and community groups as a part of our “Poetry & Community” program.
The Press is thrilled to partner with JackLeg Press to foster a space for cross-promotion and communication, share best practices, and work with a range of literary artists and leaders.
Our interns are recruited from the Department of English and Modern Languages at Florida A&M University, an HBCU founded in 1887 located in Tallahassee, Florida.
